It would be wonderful for you to drop by Garchen Institute. Rinpoche will not be there. But you can walk the land and visit the stupas. Be sure to circumnabulate them a bit — great blessings abound!

Hello Mahala,
I am actually GOING to Prescott next week to pack and pick up my father-in-law, who is moving to an assisted living facility here in WNY. Would it be OK to drop in on the Garchen Institute? I so much would like to meet them all.

I have finished reading Chetsang Rinpoche’s biography, From the Heart of Tibet and LOVED it. Am working with 37 Practices for Boddhisattvas now. Would love to know of any further recommendations from you.

Hope your retreat was fabulous and you are able to find some time to rest now.

Debbie ~ Garchen Buddhist Institute is in Chino Valley, AZ. I think it’s just a few hours from Sedona. I’ve always wanted to go to Sedona, but when I’m out there, I don’t want to leave the retreat early & my kitties will only accept so much time away from them. I do want to visit someday.

Sue ~ Yes! Of course I remember you — and your beautiful artwork. Wonderful to hear from you, however you stumbled upon this site. Do you have any plans to see Rinpoche when he comes east in January?

hazel ~ Writing this turned out to be transformative. You, especially, know how hard it was for me not to go on this retreat and all the illusion I spun around that. In the course of writing I discovered it was not just hopeful, pretty words. I was present. He is present. Step away from samsara, if just for a moment.

I love Maitreya. He always appears to me as female.

mahala… beautiful words filled with love..your trip sounds/feels present. isn’t this life learning about “illusion” anyway…it is always within mind and how we choose to “see” it!
i’ve been busy in samsara…today my center is holding a Maitreya empowerment. i will have you in mind/heart. look forward to hearing from you as well,
